I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

This week, Pastor Mike Bronson spoke from Matthew 28, about being a disciple. A disciple is someone who chooses to follow God and learn His way, instead of living their own way. Even when we think we could never do it, or that He would never want us as a disciple, God has brand new beginnings for us every day, despite all our sins and flaws - we can start today! A true disciple makes disciples, and as we are being mentored, we can also be mentoring others, helping them learn who Jesus is, and how to follow Him. Making disciples doesn't happen in a classroom, it happens out there wherever you're hanging out. Jesus made disciples by spending time with people, teaching them through a deep and personal friendship until they began to emulate Him and see the world as He does, and we can do the same. It's not about making clones of ourselves, but each individual, becoming more like God, will become even more the unique person they were meant to be. How do we go about this process? The first step is obviously to start following Jesus. Then we can grow, and help others grow, by doing life together. For those of us who go to 24/7 Church, Lifegroups are a great, practical way to help one another grow, to disciple others and be discipled ourselves. Other churches might call them small groups, cell groups, home churches, or some other name. The point is not what we call it, but the growth that is achieved. We all need to be there for each other, making disciples and being disciples.
