Yesterday, Pastor Mike Bronson was ordained, which is basically an official recognition of ability, calling and willingness, as well as training, to be set apart for the position of pastoring within the denomination. Since our church is part of the Western Ontario District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (W.O.D.; P.A.O.C. - a lot of words mostly meaning that we belong to the Pentecostal denomination, and where we are located geographically - I don't take it as meaning that we aren't willing to work with other churches or denominations), our regional director, Scott Doggart, was involved in the ordination, and it was officiated by Lorrie Gibbons, our district superintendent, who also spoke beforehand, from John 14:6.
Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. As Christians, we belong to the Way. The devil wants to isolate us so it's easier to destroy us, but we have that firm connection. We belong to the Way. We also believe in the truth. The truths and principles of God's Word stand for all time. It can take a step of faith to believe the Bible, as it can with anything, but as our eyes are opened we will see it work in our lives, and it's one of the greatest decisions we can ever make. We also need to live out our faith in our life. Nothing is more disillusioning to Christians and non-Christians alike than Christian leaders who don't live out the life. The greatest witness that we have to show people that it works is to live it out. That is the greatest representation that Jesus Christ is real in our lives. That is the call for Pastor Mike, and for each of us. The testimony of our lives is far greater than any title we might receive.
