I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

Finally able to write about Sunday's message by Pastor Mike Bronson, about honour. Pastor Mike focused on the passage from Acts 22:30 - 23:5, where Paul gave honour to the high priest when he found out who he was, despite the high priest not acting in an honourable way. The point is that we're supposed to honour each other, and we're supposed to honour authority, regardless of whether we think they deserve our respect. Does that mean we agree with the dishonourable things they may be doing? Not at all. We show them honour because in doing so we honour God. We recognize the value of a person because God Himself took the time to make them, loves them, and values them. We recognize authority as placed there by God, the ultimate authority, for a time. The question is not whether we believe someone deserves honour. That question has already been settled - they do. God has placed an inherent honour in each individual, and He has placed an inherent honour in leadership. The question is whether we choose to recognize that inherent honour and give God honour by honouring what He has established. God chose to show us honour through Jesus Christ, when we certainly didn't deserve it. Let's show each other that same kind of honour, for His sake.
