I read the first 2 chapters of Galatians today, and recalling yesterday's sermon and the point of what Christ did for us, that we wouldn't live for ourselves, and that we might become the righteousness of God. I see both points in Galatians 2:20-21 as well, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. / I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" It's only in Christ that we have the grace to live by faith in Him, and the grace to stand in His righteousness.
