I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

Pastor Kip continued his series on marriage today, focusing on submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ, and how God wants us to take all our gratitude and passion for what He's done for us, and shower that onto our spouse as a way to be thankful to God. It's not dependent on how much they deserve it, and it doesn't guarantee everything will be perfect in the marriage, but without that unconditional love, a functional, godly marriage is impossible. We give up our desires to put our spouse first, because that's the way that God has loved us. This is the kind of attitude I want, and need, to have toward my future spouse, and not just suddenly when I get married either. I can't expect that if my attitude isn't in line with God's plan that I'll suddenly and miraculously correct it on my wedding day. It requires discipline and practice, and I intend to cultivate both well in advance of marriage, because I want it to be the best that it can be, a God-honouring picture of Christ and His church reflected through my future wife and I.
