I read the letter to the church in Ephesus in Revelation 2:1-7 today. It was a good reminder that while I'm focussing on the "deeds, hard work and perseverance" that it takes to be a godly man, I must not lose sight of the reason for it all: my love for God. I must nurture a passionate, zealous love for God, He certainly deserves it, and the relationship is the whole point of the G.M.P., and of life in general.

Dear God, be my focus, be my love. I want to love You as passionately as You love me... teach me how You want to be loved. I repent of my lackluster spirit towards You far too often. You are the point of living, You are everything. Come hang out with me whenever You want to, and we'll talk, and do things together. Amen.

Random thought I had while driving today: No rationale can make a wrong action OK to do. That means I have to look at what I'm rationalizing and why, and stop rationalizing anything that's wrong. That's probably a lot easier to say than to do, but it's going to be worth it.
