I read John 9 & 10 today. In John 9, Jesus heals a man of his blindness, a man who had never seen in his life before, and as He's about to He says something to His disciples that we would do well to remember when considering the cause of sickness and suffering. I'm sure some of it comes from the consequences of sin in general, or personal mistakes, but let's not lump it all into that category. The disciples were sure that was the cause of this man's blindness, but verse 3 disputes that: " 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned,' said Jesus, 'but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.' " Let's not be too quick to judge the hurting, sick or weak - instead, let's show God's love for them through our words and actions.
