I read Acts 7-8 today, and was reminded how God can give us the right words in every circumstance. Sometimes the response was anger and violence, as with Stephen's speech in Acts 7, and sometimes joyful acceptance, as with Philip's explanation in Acts 8, but in each case the response came because the audience understood what they were hearing. A person's response to the message is their choice, but we're responsible to take the opportunities God gives us to share His good news with others. Whether it's a reminder of His work throughout history, a personal testimony, answering someone's questions with God-given wisdom, or an allegorical connection between God's kingdom and something the person understands, it's amazing how many opportunities God gives us to share in a powerful and effective way. Even our actions can reflect God to those around us, but let's not use that as an excuse to avoid speaking when the opportunities arise, rather let's use it as a reason to live out what we believe, and have integrity between our words and our actions.
