I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

I read Zechariah 4-8 today, and I wanted to focus in on one verse. Chapter 4, verse 6 says, "...'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty." How often do I try to attain what God has promised by my own strength without taking into account that He is quite able to accomplish His work in a way that is much more effective, and will give Him glory in the situation? I'm reminded of the story in Mark 4:35-41, where Jesus and His disciples were crossing the lake and there was a dangerous storm threatening to sink the boat. The question they asked Him in verse 38 is a question we've all had the opportunity to ask God at one point in our lives, if not many, under different circumstances: "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" Jesus took on the very forces of nature with a calm authority that came from His Spirit, the very essence of who He is. Why do I lack faith when I'm going where He wants me to go and come across something that seems insurmountable? Since God can supersede even the forces of nature for His will and His glory, what can I face that is more impossible to move than that? Just because I don't have the power to change my circumstances myself shouldn't make me fear, it should cause me to place my trust in God all the more, and trust His Spirit to do the work, and give Him the glory when He does.
