I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

Maybe it's because I was feeling somewhat tired and irritable today, which is probably due to little sleep and discouragement with the continual war my flesh wages against my spirit, but Joshua 11:23 really resonated with me when it said that the land had rest from war. I think the principle I can take from it is that if I want rest from war within me, I must first, with God's help, eliminate everything that would set itself up against God's plan for my life. Maybe that's one reason why Isaiah 48:22 and 57:21 say that there is no peace for the wicked. One of my favourite verses having to do with rest is Isaiah 30:15, linking salvation with repentance and rest. I think it's about time for me to make a point of actively resting, trusting God rather than worrying, living for Him and allowing Him to give me rest as I do.
