Today's thought, as shared today by Pastor Mike: In hard times, your faith will either grow or shrink. Choose growth.
Hard times are bound to come, but you can choose to let them strengthen your trust in God. He walks through them with us, and He cares deeply about our hurts. Why? Because He loves us. That's one of the first things we have to realize in order to live for God. If we don't understand the scope of His love for us, we hesitate to obey Him, and we try to do things our own way, because we don't know that we can trust Him.
Another thought I had, related to the last couple weeks, and to 1 John, is this: There is no such thing as impenetrable darkness. The things that we hold away from God will be in darkness, because we've got in the way. However, when we know God loves us, we can trust Him with everything and as we do it is exposed to the light, and the darkness cannot remain.

God, let me not make excuses for myself any longer, but live committed to honesty and integrity, to walking in the light and consistently becoming more like You, and more the person that You have called me to be, and who You already see me as. All to Your glory, my Saviour and friend. Amen.
