I was reading in the book of Esther and noticing how God was systematically frustrating the plots of the enemies of His people. The circumstances for the Jews went from hopeless to victorious, and Esther was raised up for just that purpose. She had many people praying for her, but she risked her life to save others.
I think the lesson I can learn from Esther is that God uses me to help others for my benefit. Sure, He can raise up help for them from another source, but if I'm in the position to do something and He has called me to, I shouldn't use that as an excuse. I should do what it takes, even if it involves risk to myself. (for instance, intercession, as I mentioned yesterday) Passing the responsibility will hurt me, I'll lose out on the opportunity to be Christlike, and disobedience makes me liable to destruction (as the Israelites with Achan).
God, may Your will be my desire, that I would not fail to act when You ask me to. Teach me the way that You love, protect and care for me, so I can do the same for others. Amen.
