Something I was thinking about yesterday makes me want to read the letters to Titus and Timothy when I finish Matthew. Today I read Matthew 10. Jesus is equipping His disciples to be the very workers that He asked them to pray for in the previous chapter. He gives them authority to do the very things He has been doing, and the confidence that God is watching over them and will give them the words to say at the right time. My life, and the authority and ability to do what God has called me to do with it, comes from Him.
God, don't let me forget that my life is in You. I still get so easily distracted by the little inconsequential things in life that seem so big. May I increasingly put You first, and live life the way You intended, for Your glory. Amen.
