Reading my friend Chris' blog today about intercession (yes, I know he didn't write it today, but I had other things on the go and just remembered I'd missed a post) made me think about what it means to stand in the gap between someone else and the enemy and fight for them. I know I won't be alone in the fight because Christ Himself is also interceding on their behalf, and He has taken, and will take, the brunt of the attack. However, I think I'd better not enter into intercession lightly, or without being prepared, because standing on the front lines, in and of itself, is enough to expose me to more attacks, let alone my trying to get in the way of one meant for someone else. Does that mean I should avoid intercession? No! It means I should take it seriously, be prepared with the armour of God, and know that my prayers are having an effect.

Spiritual warfare is something our culture seems to be a little ignorant of. There is a war for human souls. Good word Andrew.
