I've been reading through a devotional book that I was lent on Monday, relating our spiritual walk with 'The Lord of the Rings', by J.R.R. Tolkien. It takes certain choices that characters make in the book and contrasts them, relating them to our lives. It reminds me of the importance of testing my motivation behind the choices that I make, and doing something about what I learn.
The other thing I'm noticing is the importance of looking at everything through spiritual eyes, from books to TV to music. I can learn lessons from anything when I look at it with God's perspective. Everything in my life ought to be under His control, and for His glory.
