I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

Today I looked at 2 Corinthians 3 & 4, and chapter 3, verse 5 caught my eye, "Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God." That goes well with chapter 4, verse 7, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." I want to be the kind of man who gives God the credit He is due, and the point I see here is not that we are completely incompetent, or that there is no treasure, but that the source of all of this is God, and not ourselves. To belittle what God is doing in and through myself is not the answer, that leads to a false humility that looks an awful lot like pride. True humility accepts that God has blessed me, and gives Him the credit for that, rather than taking credit for it myself.
