I write the way I speak, maybe with more clarity because I have time to think more. Hopefully as I write out my journey to becoming a more godly man, it will inspire that same desire in others. I'm God's handiwork, He's the one working on the Project, I just want to get on board with what He's doing!

I was reading 1 Corinthians 13 & 14 today, and something in chapter 13 struck me in the description of love. Among love's other qualities, love is patient (v.4) and it always perseveres (v.7). This brought me full circle to something I had on my mind for a while, the combination of patience and persistence. As odd as that combination may seem, it has to work, because God is love, love contains both consistently, and doing things God's way always works better. So how do I combine the two properly? I learn to love the way that God does. This brings me back to something that has been recurring to me over the last couple weeks, putting my focus on others rather than myself. "...it is not self-seeking..." (v.5) Whether it be fellow Christians, family, friends, enemies, strangers... the recipient shouldn't be the main reason to love or not love someone. I love because God has loved me. That is His way. That needs to be my way.
