What am I building onto the foundation of Christ in my life? I read 1 Corinthians 3-4 today, and chapter 3 talks about that in verses 10-15. I've been blessed previously to go through adverse circumstances which peeled away all the layers of self I had built up to see what my foundation was. When I got right down to it, I could see that the only immovable, unchangeable constant at the centre of my life is God. Since then, I haven't always built on that foundation with the best materials, but I'm learning that it's extremely important because the only things that will last are the things of God, the elements of His character which build so well on the foundation of Him. Everything else has no lasting value, it doesn't satisfy, and I can almost see it fading away as it's placed, when seen next to the eternal things of God.
