I read through Romans 11 & 12 today, and Romans 12:3-8 reminds me of yesterday's church service. God has blessed us in so many ways, including giving each of us abilities and talents that are needed in the church as a whole, so that none of us should feel useless or unneeded. As verse 6 says, "We have different gifts, according to the grace given us..." This grace we've been given is personal, and in addition to the grace of God that is given to every believer. This is the power to fulfill God's purpose for our lives, to truly live out the identity that we've been given. The rest of verses 6-8 give some examples of gifts, but whether we recognize our gift in the list (and it may be there unnoticed), the point is to make use of it for God's glory, for the benefit of others, and with all our heart. So let's do that. As verse 11 says, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."
